The Disabled American Veterans, founded in 1920, is dedicated to empowering veterans with service-connected disabilities to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. DAV provides free assistance with VA claims, employment support, transportation to VA medical facilities, and legislative advocacy on Capitol Hill.
Eligibility: Any U.S. military veteran who was wounded, disabled, or made ill during active military service and has received an honorable discharge is eligible for DAV membership.
