Veterans of Foreign Wars

Established in 1899, the Veterans of Foreign Wars is one of the oldest veterans organizations in the United States. The VFW operates approximately 6,000 posts and focuses specifically on veterans who have served in overseas combat operations. The organization is a leading voice in Washington for veterans rights and benefits.

Eligibility: U.S. military personnel who have served in a combat zone or hostile fire area overseas and received an honorable discharge are eligible for VFW membership.
